Sound installation on the abandoned swimming pool of the former elementary school of NIAV, Nishiaizu International Art Village, Japan. From June 20th to 30th, 2018. Project in collaboration with Ginsui Tanaka (voice) and Lavinia Bottamedi (sound recording).

The swimming pool is part of the residency area, a former elementary school abandoned for lack of students. I installed a two-channel track split in four speakers, directed towards the interior of the pool.  The sound installation comprised field recordings of water from the mountains of Italy, the sound of a German swimming pool and the voice of a Japanese woman singing traditional poetry songs about mountains. An echo is generated by the failed synchronicity of the installation.
